Greetings!

I hope this letter finds you well.  These are truly challenging times, not only in our nation but around the world. In my home country, when the Romanian government imposed their COVID-19 lockdown, people could not leave their homes without written permission from the government. This severely restricted our mission there; all we could do was pray that God would see them through this.  But even during the lockdown we were able to provide some assistance with food distribution.  When the lockdown was lifted, we were able to focus on our other programs.

Housing Program

We partnered with a local church and community members to build a small home for a family in Apata. This family of 8 had a father who was disabled and could not work.  We partnered with the community to help finish the roof and interior of their house so they could move in before winter.  Pief Florin, our Romanian Program Director, has a group of volunteers that worked together to finish the project.  Sharing God's word and now seeing the community demonstrate love for their neighbor gives us hope for their future.

Basic Shelter Program

We found a small community of 22 families in the mountains near Crăciunel.  Their living conditions are the worst that we have ever seen.  People are living in stick and mud shacks, some of which don’t have adequate roofs.  We purchased new wood stoves, repaired roofs, and installed plywood walls in some of the homes, but we have alot more work to do there.  The village does not have a clean water supply.  Currently they are carrying drinking water from a nearby river.  We want to raise funds to dig them a well and improve their housing. We are praying that God will provide everything we need.

Food Distribution Program

We continue to help feed people in the poorest communities that cannot help themselves.  Over the last 20 years, God has led us to help provide food to my old village and many others around Brasov. We are reminded many times in the Bible to care for the widows.  Our last food drive in Sacele fed 14 widows and 2 young families whose fathers recently died. Through God’s blessings, we have fed the hungry and shared the good news of Jesus Christ.

God is doing great work in Romania and your generous donations are directly helping people in need.  We can’t thank you enough for your financial support!  May God continue to bless you, please consider donating today.

Blessings; Viorel Mihai
